Vincent Peter Mocco is a filmmaker based in New York City, originally from Bernardsville, New Jersey. He holds an MFA in Writing and Directing from NYU Tisch School of the Arts and a BA from Villanova University, where he contributed to Sankofa (2019), a Student Academy Award-winning documentary.
At NYU, Vincent was recognized as a three-time King Awards finalist, twice as a producer and once as a director, ultimately winning a 2025 King Award for Directing with his thesis film Piedi Nudi. Shot on 16mm Kodak film and set in 1940s post war southern Italy, Piedi Nudi draws on his own family history and was filmed entirely on location in Monteroduni, Molise. The project was supported by the Spike Lee Production Fund, the Tiro a Segno Award, and the Reiss Production Grant, and stands as a testament to Vincent’s commitment to personal storytelling with global resonance.
His films have screened at notable festivals including the Cleveland International Film Festival, Soho International Film Festival, Austin Comedy Film Festival, and Malibu International Film Festival. In addition to writing and directing, Vincent has worked professionally in New York as a cinematographer, editor, camera assistant and key grip for many films and commercial clients.
Outside of film, Vincent trained in improv comedy at the Upright Citizens Brigade while he was in high school at Phillips Academy Andover and founded his own performing improv troupe, Steam Room Etiquette in NYC. Vincent writes and directs across genres with a focus on original stories that translate to a broader audience.
